Spring/Summer 2008 Update... some changes for the better!

"El Cerrito Sports Camp"

Albany Sports Camp is now back in El Cerrito where it all began at Cerrito Vista Park in September, 1992.

The 2008 Summer Sports Camp will be held at Cerrito Vista Park just across the street from the Community Center on Moeser Lane.

Registration for the summer camp, which will now be known as

"El Cerrito Sports Camp", will be accomplished under the auspices of the City of El Cerrito, as we have joined forces for this program.

Enrolling in the Summer Camp is easier than ever.  On this site you will find a link to the El Cerrito web page for forms that may be conveniently completed on line. 

As always, on-site registration, for full weeks and daily drop-ins, will be cheerfully accepted.  Registration Forms will also be available throughout the summer at out camp site at Cerrito Vista Park.

Albany Sports Camp's "Sunday Soccer & Baseball" program will be held at Canyon Trail Park throughout the 2008 calendar year. 

Registration for the Sunday program remains unchanged. 

The Soccer & Baseball Registration Form may be downloaded from this site, and on-site registration is always possible.  In fact, you may come any Sunday and join us for a pro-rated fee based on your starting date.

Ironically, after spending half a lifetime engaged in many forms of competition, since the late 1980's Norm has been creating and conducting programs that are exclusively non-competitive and co-ed .

Assistant Director:  Joel Gildersleeve; credentialed teacher in the Albany Unified School District.

On board since 1999, Joel has been Assistant Director since 2001. 

Joel supervises our 4-5 year olds on Sunday, and during the Summer Camp is our main on-site coordinator.

Albany Sports Camp specializes in non-competitive, co-ed activities.

Safety, fun, and learning are our priorities, as the emphasis is squarely on participation in a recreational setting, rather than on competition.

It is estimated that over the years approximately 6,000 boys and girls have attended at least one of our programs.  Half began at the age of four or five!
