2. Program Outline
Age groups are flexible and only approximations. We adjust whenever the need arises, always trying to find the most suitable group for each child. For this reason, participant and parent input and feedback is welcomed both before and during the session.
- Ongoing registration! You may join at any time.
- Pro-rated fees will be adjusted during the session based on your starting date. There is no great disadvantage to joining mid-session. More than half the participants in a given session join sometime after the first day.
- Fees are the same for residents of all cities.
- There are never any additional costs, such as for uniforms.
- We will provide fresh fruit, usually fuji apples and navel oranges, during a short break in the middle of each activity.
- All rain-outs will be either made up or credited.

5. Soccer & Baseball Program Philosophy
Our priorities are Safety, Fun, and Learning. Beginners will learn the basics of Soccer and /or Baseball in a nurturing environment that we keep as stress free as possible.
Instructional games will be played in age appropriate groups.
For young children playing sports should be a positive experience. With this in mind, our emphasis is on encouraging participation rather than on creating a competitive environment.
6. Soccer Groups
Our age groups are only 'approximations'. We always try to find the best group for each child, so we must be flexibile regarding chronological age.
Age groups will often change quite a bit from one session to another. What follows is the breakdown of groups for the current session:
Assistant Director, Joel Gildersleeve, supervises the 4-5 year old group. Joel has been with us for ten years, performing his magical introduction to Soccer and Baseball for our youngest participants. Brief mini-games are played when the children are ready. Inevitably, some children will move into an older age group.
Joel is assisted by Amaya and Cassandra Fernandez.
Phil Coffin, David Platford, and Charles Holder usually work with the older age groups: 5-6 and 7-11. note: as of 10/5, there are no children older than 9 in the 7-11 group.
Our coaches provide instruction and supervise games... less time on drills and more time on playing the game as the session progresses.
7. Baseball Groups
We teach the fundamentals:
- Fielding
- Throwing
- Batting
- Baserunning
Instructional games, when played, are geared to the comprehension level of the participants.
The 4-5 year olds will be with Assistant Director Joel Gildersleeve and Amaya Fernandez.
The 6-8 year old group is coached by David Platford, Phillip Coffin,
and Charles Holder.
